The University of Texas at Austin, $175 million, 295,000 gsf
Project achieved US Green Building Council LEED Gold certification (43 LEED points under LEED NC 2.2). Sustainable features include a 185-panel solar hot water heating system (capable of producing 1 million BTUs/hr), variable air volume HVAC system, low-flow chemical fume hoods, a daylighting system, and a non-potable water irrigation system. Project included 42" chilled water tunneling and piping to connect building to district chilled water and thermal energy storage system.
